National Academic League

National Academic League Students at St John Neumann School in Pueblo, CO. Congratulations to the St. John Neumann Panthers and Coaches Concetta Trujillo, and Geraldine Trujillo-Santistevan for another impressive team performance!

Students from 6th through 8th grade may compete in NAL.

Practices are during school and games are after school at 4:30 at Central High School.

Our SJNCS middle school team placed 2nd place in the city of Pueblo.

Brain Bowl

Brain BowlThe Optimist Brain Bowl is an academic competition open to Colorado Wyoming middle school students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Students form teams and demonstrate their knowledge of a variety of subjects in a format modeled after the GE College Bowl television program that ran from 1959-1970.

All Colorado/Wyoming public, private and home-schooled 6th, 7th and 8th grade students are invited to form teams and participate.  St. John Neumann Panthers participate in the Southern Colorado Region competition.  The competition is held in February in Colorado Springs.

Students are encouraged to participate in the local and regional contest which may include writing, oratorical, art, etc.


Our students have opportunities to participate in various soccer leagues.


Father Powers Basketball League

Students participate as SJNCS team(s) in the Father Powers Basketball League for 2nd-8th graders and teams of varying grade levels participate in the YMCA Leagues.

The following Father Powers Basketball Awards were presented to our school:
Fr. John Power Memorial Basketball League Inspirational Player Award—Nick Guzman
A-Division League Sportsmanship—SJN Panthers
B-Division Tournament Sportsmanship—SJN Suns
